For most of the bands who I love, I listened to their music first and then I discovered to what they looked like...
Glam, when done right is, to me, the perfect rock'n'roll.
Like someone mentioned you have the big hooks, the riffs and overall carchy songs which is of course the most important thing. Then there is the rock star element to it.
To me it was never interessting to be in a band without an image. If you wanna be a rock star, dress the part has always been my attitude. Give the people something to look at, some entertainment, some value for money... I think band like Nirvana (and a million other bands) just don't make an effort to entertain. They look boring and they were boring.
Now if you are also into partying there is no better style of music to be into than glam... and let's face it girls like glam as well...
You just can't lose with this.
Now where are those blasted drugs! I know I have them somewhere haha

The look had been around. It was his music that made me sit up and take REAL notice in 1983 when I first noticed it. During his prime, I was only 2, so his look really would have missed it's mark at that point.
But don't get me wrong, as odd as it is, nothing SCREAMS "GLAM IMAGE" and inspiration as much as that black and white cover for The Slider!!! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
Yeah, only Andy really wore any kind of "Glam" footwear at times. The rest of them though, the cool looks, then you get to their feet and they were wearing Nike's!!! I never understood that either, and it hurt the image a tad, didn't it?
Wasn't it just RAzzle who wore Nike's?
I can't remember ever seeing Nasty, Sammy, Mike or Andy wearing Nike's, but of course I might be wrong.
Think the most common footwear they had were these chealsea boot type things without the heels
I was attracted by the Teeth of a band.
